Tae Kwon Do Kid and Copycats

24 Oct

So here is M demonstrating one of his “patterns” to me, on his first day of going to Tae Kwon Do with his white belt on.   He started Tae Kwon Do last month and so far loves it.  He knows how to count to ten in Korean and a few other “patterns”.  He said that he can earn his purple trim (this is the seventh belt) in two years. I hope he sticks with it.  His instructor “Master” is awesome and I can tell that he teaches the kids a lot of respect and discipline.

Then there are these two comedians.  They fight. They play.  They scream. They laugh.  They are only one year and nine months apart so right now and for a few months yet they are age 2 and 3.  The older brother does a lot of teasing.  The little sister is learning a few bad habits.  B calls CJ  “Sweetie” all the time, and he tends to know what toys to pick up that will instantly set her off.  But as  you can in this video, they are two peas in a pod.  The cupcakes they are eating were a prize CJ won at the church cake walk.  We were just having fun eating cupcakes outside one afternoon and being silly.

Singing monkeys, Kung Fu Light Sabers and First Steps (Videos)

17 Jan

Here are some videos of my kids that I finally got uploaded.

The little girl- who showed her will to walk right around Christmas – 15 months

The middle child. who thinks he is a kung fu kid.

And my oldest, who is very enthusiastic about jumping monkeys and wearing a suit & tie.

Lottie is lala over Squash

25 Mar

So our little girl is 6 months old! She has not been eating cereal very well, and spits most of it out, so I figured that she just wasn’t ready for food yet. I was wrong! She just does not like cereal and last night we tried a vegetable for the first time, and she LOVED her squash! I could not believe it when I saw her take spoonful after spoonful and not spit any of it out… I guess she is a big girl now! Here is a video of her towards the end of her feeding, when Big Bro is feeding her. You can see that she is pretty happy!

Everything went well at her 6 month check up. Her Laryngomalacia is pretty much gone and she just has to take the acid reflux meds for a couple more months. She is growing and is at 15% percentile for weight (13 lbs. 15 oz.) and 25% percentile for height (25 in.), so she is a peanut but growing consistently. Especially now that she will be eating veggies! CJ rolled over tonite after her bath! She has only rolled over a couple times for us, but the doctor thought that “it would come”. He checked her muscle tone, and he did not see any problems. He thought she may be one of the 15% or so of babies that sits before they roll. In the mean time, we are working on more tummy time. Neil had remembered that to get B to roll over, we had to get him mad. I don’t know if that will work as well for a girl, but I guess we will see.

Babies, Communication, and Dance

17 Jul

It is reality that soon by little baby will no longer be the baby. I am not sure if I am really ready for that? I know he is not. He is *a bit* of a mama’s boy, likes to be held ALOT. I am so proud of him though and how he is growing up. He says “gank oo” (thank you) so well…. well maybe not that good because he was saying it to gma all night one night and she did not know what he was saying….Like Mav did when he was his age (and most babes I presume) he eats like a champ. Where Mav is pickier now, B will eat whatever he can, no matter what it is. I wish Mav would not have grown pickier but I guess that is normal!

B has just started being VERY clear about nodding YES and NO. He does it very deliberately when he knows what he wants. It is so precious, and I hope to get video of it online soon.
*note to self- get more vid of the boys!

THe boys love to dance, and it is so hilarious and carefree. Watching them dance and giggle has got to be one of the best stress relievers. We need to work more music into our lives though… and I need to get some vid of them shaking their booty (see this vid from last summer for a little chuckle)

The Adventures of Brody (video)

3 Feb

Here is a youtube video that shows some of Brody’s adventures over the past couple months… my first video with the new imovie ’09 and it only took me a half hour or so to put together!

Really shows how he is growing up to be a little boy, and not so much a baby anymore! And amazing to see things like his jumper and walker that he was just using before Christmas and now they are stored away in the closet… time flies, and the first year with a new baby is such an amazing rush of a million things.

I am not real happy with the quality of the video once it go to YouTube (it looked a lot more colorful and clearer in imovie), but here it is.

Maverick Sings Bob the Builder (Video)

18 Jan

Mav has liked Bob the Builder for a while now, even though I think Thomas the Train has earned the #1 spot. The Bob the Builder song is heard often at our house… This video is from Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Haen’s where Maverick shares some of his singing skills.

Watch for: the added guitar strums, the twirl while singing, and the graceful trip.

Mav Tells Santa what he Wants for Christmas (video)

14 Dec

Santa came and visited us and Maverick sat on his lap! He wasn’t afraid, although he nodded more then he talked. He has 2 things that he wants for Christmas, a bowling ball and a crane!
